The Square Head – A Sculpture Morphed Into A Building

La Tête au Carré or The Square Head in Nice, France may look like an art installation from an insanely creative artist but this is actually a 30-metre library composed of seven floors, three in the neck and four in the cube. It is the first monumental habitable sculpture in the world. The building is covered with finely perforated aluminium mesh so that no one can see the inside from the outside but the staff inside can see the outside world.

Locals find this building odd and ugly because the building structure is very different from the buildings around. However, it has become a big tourist attraction because it stands out from the rest. After all, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
