The scene of what looks like hippos emerging from a pool might seem alarming, but these are actually creative sculptures. They were designed to complement the African Animal Area at the Taipei Zoo. Conceptualised by former zoo director Chen Pao-chung, Hippo Square has since become one of the zoo’s most distinctive non-living features.
Considered to be one of the world’s most creative sculptures, the Hippo Square has won the hearts of many photography enthusiasts and art lovers around the world.
If these hippo sculptures don’t scare the hell out of you, might as well see the real one.
Visit Taipei Zoo if you want to get close with the hippos and other wild animals without the risk of getting attacked.
