Singaporeans will soon have another way to explore China beyond its familiar big cities. Scoot is launching direct flights from Singapore to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, from 26 Oct 2026.

The new service will operate three times weekly on an Airbus A320neo, offering travellers a convenient gateway to one of southwestern China’s most scenic and culturally diverse regions. One-way Economy Class fares will start from S$158, inclusive of taxes.

Located amid the mountains of southwestern China, Guiyang is known for its abundant greenery, pleasant climate and rich ethnic minority cultures. Compared with major destinations such as Beijing and Shanghai, the city offers a quieter introduction to China, with historic towns, natural wonders and regional experiences within easy reach.

One of the best-known attractions near Guiyang is Qingyan Ancient Town. The centuries-old settlement features preserved stone streets, traditional buildings, temples and historic city walls, making it a worthwhile stop for travellers interested in Chinese architecture and heritage.

Those willing to venture farther can visit Huangguoshu Waterfall, located southwest of Guiyang. Considered one of the largest waterfalls in Asia, the attraction is surrounded by striking karst scenery, forests and walking trails. It is among Guizhou’s most famous natural landmarks and a popular day-trip destination from the provincial capital.

With its combination of culture and dramatic landscapes, Guiyang could appeal to travellers looking for a less conventional China itinerary, particularly those who have already visited the country’s better-known destinations.

Flights are now available for booking

Scoot’s new Guiyang flights are available for booking from 20 Aug 2026 through the airline’s website and mobile application. Bookings will also become progressively available through other sales channels.

With Guiyang added to its network, Scoot will operate 81 weekly flights to 16 cities across mainland China. The airline’s wider network will also grow to 86 destinations across 18 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe.

Scoot CEO Leslie Thng said the new route would strengthen the airline’s presence in China while connecting Singapore and Scoot’s wider network with one of southwestern China’s most scenic and culturally rich cities.

Beyond the Guiyang launch, Scoot will increase services to several popular regional destinations to meet stronger year-end travel demand.

Most of the changes will take effect from October 2026:

  • Hat Yai: From 12 to 14 flights weekly

  • Phuket: From 17 to 21 flights weekly

  • Okinawa: From four to five flights weekly

  • Clark: From seven to 10 flights weekly from December 2026

  • Tiruchirappalli: From 12 to 14 flights weekly from December 2026

  • Kota Kinabalu: From 10 to 13 flights weekly from January 2027

Scoot will continue operating daily flights to Phu Quoc, with a gradual switch from the Embraer E190-E2 to the larger Airbus A320 family of aircraft. This will increase seat capacity without adding more weekly services.

The adjustments form part of Scoot’s Northern Winter 2026/2027 schedule, which runs from 25 Oct 2026 to 27 Mar 2027.

Travellers planning a year-end getaway will therefore have more options across China, Southeast Asia, Japan and India. Flight schedules remain subject to government and regulatory approvals or changes, so passengers should confirm the latest timings on Scoot’s official website before booking.
