Thingvallavatn Lake Lets You Swim Between Two Continents

Iceland is vastly gifted with natural landscape easily seen on land but it also features some of the world’s most beautiful underwater jewels that are sure to capture the hearts of scuba divers and adventure-seekers alike.

Hidden deep within Iceland’s Þingvellir National Park is the stupefying Thingvallavatn Lake, also spelled Þingvallavatn, which allows divers to explore the tectonic boundary between North America and Europe. Interestingly, the two tectonic plates are pulling apart from each other by 2 cm every year.
