Think of the movie “Lord of the Rings” and your mind will instantly fly to New Zealand, where most of the filming locations are found. Do you know there’s a town in Italy that looks like LOTR’s Hobbiton village? Italy is not just home to some of the world’s most iconic structures and tourist attractions, but it also keeps a prehistoric town that you probably haven’t heard before.

Alberobello is a small town in the province of Bari, in Puglia, Italy famous for its trulli structures, traditional Apulian dry stone huts with conical roofs. While Alberobello has been part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites list since 1996, not so many travellers know of its existence in Italy. However, it has just recently attracted the interests of travellers who prefer to get off the beaten path.
