It might be surprising to hear, but snow is a rare and fascinating phenomenon in Vietnam’s northern provinces. Temperatures in mountainous areas like Sa Pa, Tam Dao, and Mau Son Mountain have been known to drop to near-freezing, creating a unique, wintry landscape.

This cold weather often extends to the central regions, while southern areas like Ho Chi Minh City remain warm and mild. For travellers, this offers a chance to experience the country’s diverse climate, from cool, misty mountains to the familiar warmth of the south.
