Singapore travellers now have a smoother way to discover Oman, with Oman Air launching its inaugural direct service between Muscat and Singapore.

The new non-stop route commenced on 2 July 2026, marking a major step in strengthening air connectivity between Oman and Southeast Asia. Coinciding with the launch, Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has also reinforced its tourism presence in Singapore, as the Sultanate looks to welcome more visitors from the region.

The direct Muscat–Singapore service is expected to make Oman more accessible for leisure, business, and cultural travel. For Singapore-based travellers, the route opens up a more seamless journey to one of the Middle East’s most distinctive destinations, known for its dramatic desert landscapes, mountain villages, coastal beauty, ancient forts, and warm Arabian hospitality.

The launch also supports Oman’s wider tourism ambitions, particularly in diversifying its visitor source markets and increasing international arrivals in line with Oman Vision 2040.

Yousuf Al Mujaizi, Assistant Director of Business Development at Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, described the new route as “an important milestone” in strengthening tourism, cultural exchange, and economic ties between Oman and Singapore.

“Singapore is a valuable source market, and the direct flight will create new opportunities for tourism and business while enabling more visitors to experience Oman’s rich heritage and renowned hospitality,” he said.

For travellers seeking a Middle Eastern escape beyond the usual city break, Oman offers a different kind of journey. Think ochre deserts, rugged wadis, traditional souqs, serene coastlines, and heritage-rich towns that still feel deeply connected to local culture.

From exploring Muscat’s grand mosques and waterfront corniche to venturing into Nizwa, Jebel Akhdar, Wahiba Sands, and the country’s pristine coastline, Oman appeals to travellers looking for nature, culture, and a more grounded sense of place.

The destination is also well-suited for Southeast Asian travellers increasingly drawn to meaningful, scenic, and experience-led itineraries, especially those that combine comfort with cultural depth.

With the direct Muscat–Singapore service now in operation, Oman is set to become a more convenient and compelling destination for travellers from Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region. Are you excited to plan your Oman voyage?
