Singapore’s Kampong Gelam Bazaar Returns in March 2024!

Expect special collaborations with Singapore's oldest mosque, in commemoration of its 200th anniversary.

Feast your senses on a dazzling display of sights, sounds, and flavours! Singapore‘s One Kampong Gelam will be back for Ramadan 2024 with a fourth edition of the Kampong Gelam Bazaar. Themed “Gemilang Kampong Gelam,” the bazaar will run from 2 Mar to 5 Apr 2024, where the historic district morphs into a vibrant marketplace!

Kampong Gelam Bazaar returns: what you need to know

This year’s edition will feature special collaborations with Sultan Mosque, in commemoration of its Bicentennial, promising a bigger and better bazaar while boasting over 107 local F&B and retail partners. From delectable culinary delights to shopping selections for Hari Raya, there’s something to tantalise every taste and fancy.

FYI, the celebration shall kick-off with an official launch on 6 Mar 2024 at Baghdad Street. Expect a line-up of vibrant cultural performances such as Dikir Barat, Samrah Dance and Malay Dance to entertain your visit during the launch.

However, this year’s Kampong Gelam Bazaar isn’t just about shopping; it’s an immersive cultural experience. Prepare to witness mesmerising light projections on past archives of the iconic Sultan Mosque since the 1800s.  This brilliant light show will unfold the stories that have defined the mosque for the past 200 years. Visitors can watch the interactive experience every weekend at the Sultan Mosque, from Friday to Sunday from 7.30pm

Most anticipated mass iftar in Kampong Gelam Bazaar

Spanning 240 metres along Arab Street, a mass Iftar (breaking fast) held in partnership with Eventify, Sultan Mosque, Travel Connect, and Vision21 will take place on 23 Mar 2024 at 7pm. What’s more, the event will be the largest of its kind in Kampong Gelam with a projected 1,500 attendees including charity beneficiaries! BTW, tables will be open for sale to the public, with part of the proceeds channeled to the Sultan Mosque and its beneficiary groups.

Apart from that, visitors can also participate in the charity ride held in partnership with Chiongster Motorsport, whereby over 200 bikers will be riding from Ford Road to Kampong Gelam on 17 Mar and 23 Mar 2024. Bikers will also be able to purchase printed merchandise and proceeds will be directed to official beneficiary partners.

Other notable events include art exhibits, musical performances, live cooking shows, and even nightly film screenings.
