Standing at a staggering 40 metres tall, the HSBC Rain Vortex remains the crown jewel of Singapore’s Changi Airport. Whether you are a local on a weekend mall run or a traveller in transit, this architectural marvel is a sight to behold.

However, timing is everything if you want to catch the waterfall at its most majestic or see it transform during the evening. Here is the latest schedule as of March 2026. Take note!

Jewel Rain Vortex's Essential Timings

While Jewel itself is open 24 hours, the waterfall and its famous light shows operate on a specific daily schedule.

You can catch the Rain Vortex in its standard waterfall state from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. It is best to arrive during the day to appreciate the natural light pouring through the glass dome!

Experience the area at its most mystical during the golden hour, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, when the setting sun transforms the scenery into something truly magical.

The atmosphere changes completely when the sun goes down and the Light & Music Showcase begins. From Monday to Thursday, the shows run at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. If you are visiting on a weekend (Friday to Sunday), a Public Holiday, or the Eve of a Public Holiday, an additional show is added at 10:00 PM for the late-night crowd.

New Special Festive Extension

Note that for the recent festive season, opening hours were extended until 12:00 AM through 3 March 2026. As we are now in mid-March, the waterfall and its light displays have returned to the standard closing time of 10:00 PM.

How Much is the Entrance Fee?

Good news! Visiting the Rain Vortex and the Shiseido Forest Valley is completely free, and it does not require you to have a flight ticket.

However, if you're planning to visit other attractions like the Mastercard Canopy Bridge, do note that they sometimes close for private events.

3 Ways to Level Up Your Visit

The Skytrain Hack

For a truly immersive (and free!) view, take the Skytrain that connects Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. It passes right through the Forest Valley, giving you a front-row seat to the Rain Vortex at eye level.

Basement Views

Most people view the falls from the upper levels, but heading down to Basement 2 allows you to see the water disappear into a stunning acrylic funnel. It’s often less crowded and perfect for "close-up" slow-mo videos.

Dine with a View

Several restaurants on the upper floors offer "falls-view" seating. It’s the best way to enjoy the 8:00 PM Light & Music show without having to jostle for a spot at the railings.

The Jewel Rain Vortex remains a timeless symbol of Singapore’s "City in Nature" vision. So, next time you’re at Changi, take a moment to pause, look up, and let the cascades remind you why this airport is considered the best in the world!
