At the National Science Centre, you can expect to see lots of entertaining exhibits as well as many mini activities (all in the name of science and learning!). It’s a little out of the city centre, but if you don’t mind the short drive, it’ll be worth it.

To be honest, your kids are going to have a lot more fun than you here, but that’s probably how life is like when you’re young, carefree and smaller in size. Based in Bangsar Shopping Centre, this indoor play area has a Jungle Gym for the little ones and an in-line skating rink for roller-blading. You’re going to have to drive out of Kuala Lumpur to get to this attraction, but it’ll be worth it. Rather than visiting the National Zoo, this non-traditional zoo is a lot more suitable for younger children as well. There are lots of animal species to discover at this amazing enclosure and it’s also cleverly routed to ensure that you get to see everything without tiring your poor legs out. If you’d like to encourage your kids to feed and interact with animals without fear, you should definitely pay this place a visit.

When the weather is fair though, you’ll want to pay a visit to KLCC Park for some fun family time. Come here for a swim (although it’s pretty much a wading pool for the younger ones), test out their running track, or just laze around under the cool shade of the trees while listening to the sounds of an active park amidst a busy city. If your kids still have a lot of energy after coming out of the water, they can also enjoy themselves at the massive playground in the park itself.

Although this isn’t a fixed activity, it’s still one that the whole family can enjoy since there’s just so much to see and eat here at this busy intersection. This predominantly Chinese area is teeming with all kinds of shops and stalls selling local delicacies, cheap wares, items from China, herbs, souvenirs, and so much more. If you could stand a little walking, the street is practically a few minutes away from the Pasar Seni LRT station.
