Chatuchak Market from Bangkok is coming to Singapore! Yes, you read that right. For the first time ever, the world-famous Thai market will operate outside of Thailand. Located at Singapore’s The Grandstand in Turf Club, the market will run from 4 February to 3 May 2020.

Just like the original market in Thailand, there will be over 200 stalls and 1000 vendors selling everything from food and clothing to services. To add to the authenticity of the experience, the market which spans across 40, 000 sq. ft. will be flying in its vendors from Thailand throughout its three-month run, with 50 vendors for every rotation.

Beyond shopping, there are also activities you can partake in, as confirmed by the event organisers. From Tuesdays to Sundays (4pm to 10.30pm), you can join in the fun with Chang Beer(provides beer), Rooftop Barbers Studio(hair services) and FUNtastic(claw machines).

If you are tired from exploring the wares, you can have a seat at one of the 400 seats that will be available. In addition, the event will also offer free parking and shuttle services from Clementi, Toa Payoh and Sixth Avenue.

Not the first market concept to grace Singapore’s shores

Chatuchak’s arrival on Singapore’s shores is a testament to how well similar market concepts have fared in Singapore. Artbox Singapore, for one, has been held three times in Singapore and has proven to be quite a success featuring  300 booths covering over a space of 200, 000 sq ft.

Given how food-crazy and shopping-obsessed Singaporeans are, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a seamless crowd control. Here’s to a smooth market opening, plenty of shopping loots and glorious Thai Milk Tea for all!

Chatuchak Market Singapore will be held at 200 Turf Club Rd, Singapore 287994. For more information, you can refer to their website here.
