Bandung, Indonesia, has long been known as a creative city with cool weather and beautiful scenery. But for food lovers? Bandung does not disappoint! From cosy cafes tucked away in leafy neighbourhoods to legendary eateries serving local Sundanese flavours, the city offers endless opportunities to eat your way around town. On my recent Bandung food trip, I set out to explore the city one bite at a time.
Here’s a list of some of the must-try restaurants and cafes in Bandung that are my personal top picks!

Bandung food list you’ll want to try
1. Dago Bakery Punclut Cafe

I would argue this is less of a ‘foodie’ spot and more of a must-visit Bandung landmark. For anyone who vibrates on a Gothic frequency or spent their childhood waiting for a Hogwarts letter, this place is a literal dream. Its architecture alone makes every corner an amazing photo spot!
The menu here is surprisingly diverse, catering to international cravings with Western comfort dishes like creamy Beef Lasagna and crispy Chicken Cordon Bleu alongside local Bandung food like Nasi Timbel and Batagor. Even better? The entrance fee is worth every penny because it functions as a voucher that you can fully exchange for fresh bread or snacks at their bakery!
2. Tilu Kitchen and Patisserie

For a more upscale dining experience, Tilu Kitchen and Patisserie is a fantastic choice that feels quite fancy. During my dinner visit, they happened to have a live band session performing a great mix of popular English and Indonesian songs, which made the evening feel even more special!
As for the food, my boyfriend and I shared the Sup Buntut Bakar (grilled oxtail soup) and the Tilu Padang Platter. Both dishes were beautifully presented and packed with flavour, making the meal truly memorable. One thing to note, though, is that their Rendang chicken is a lot more coconutty than that in Malaysia. If you’re looking for a Bandung food spot that combines elegant vibes, live entertainment, and delicious fusion cuisine, this place is definitely a top pick!
3. Farmhouse Susu Lembang
![]()
Farmhouse Susu Lembang is a charming spot where you can get up close and personal with a variety of animals. This includes pigeons, sheep, and even iguanas. It is a fantastic place for animal lovers and families alike to enjoy a hands-on experience in a scenic setting.
When you need a break from exploring, the onsite restaurant offers some truly standout treats. I had an amazing, Instagram-worthy Tiramisu dessert that tasted as good as it looked, along with one of the best Yuzu drinks I’ve ever had! To top it all off, every entrance ticket comes with a free cup of fresh milk, which is incredibly refreshing.
4. Kampung Daun
![]()
The highlight of my Bandung food trip! That’s right, if you’re planning a trip to Bandung, you have to put Kampung Daun into your itinerary. It’s arguably one of the most renowned restaurants in Bandung for tourists! The atmosphere is truly one-of-a-kind; with private bamboo huts nestled among lush greenery and the sound of natural streams, it feels exactly as if you’re dining in the heart of a forest.

The menu offers an extensive range of authentic Sundanese cuisine, and I can honestly say I had the best Nasi Liwet and Bebek (duck) of my trip here. To round off the meal, their delicious Pisang Goreng is both incredibly filling and absolutely divine! It’s the perfect spot to soak in West Javanese culture while enjoying a peaceful escape from the city.
5. Roti Macan

From the bottom of my heart, Roti Macan is easily the best cafe in Bandung and a mandatory stop for your Bandung food trip. I had the most incredible Cranberry Cheese bread here. The quality is so exceptional that I haven’t found such fragrant, soft bread in any other country! It is truly to die for and lives up to every bit of the hype.
You absolutely must arrive early because their baked goods sell out incredibly fast. I went around 10:30 AM, and even then, their famous signature Double Choco bread was already sold out.
TripZilla tip: Since the seating area is quite limited and there isn’t much space, you might want to consider taking your treats to go so you can enjoy them elsewhere!
6. Yamato Gyukatsu
![]()
Located in the well-known Paris Van Java shopping mall, Yamato Gyukatsu is a great choice if you’re craving something Japanese yet value for money. The menu features everything from traditional Japanese favourites like Ochazuke and various Yakitori sets to more modern fusion options like hearty burgers.
Personally, I highly recommend ordering the Australian Tenderloin Truffle Set; the portion size is impressive and definitely worth the price, making it a satisfying meal that feels like a steal!
Bonus: Hotel buffet from Best Western Premier La Grande

Finally, I just want to add that the hotel buffet spread at Best Western Premier La Grande was awesome. I stayed there for four nights and felt truly spoiled by the variety of local flavours available all in one place. I particularly loved the Batagor and Pukis, along with other mouthwatering Indonesian staples like soto ayam, tempeh, and udang goreng!
My Bandung food trip proved that the city is more than just a weekend escape; it’s a destination worth visiting for its diverse and exciting food scene alone! Whether you’re in the mood for comforting local dishes or indulgent desserts, Bandung delivers at every turn. So, when is your upcoming Bandung trip?
