TripZillaThe United States is requiring all travellers to be fully vaccinated starting November 2021. Initially, the country’s only approved vaccines were Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson, but they’ve eased this rule and welcomed more vaccines to the list. Foreign tourists who are fully vaccinated with any WHO- or FDA-approved vaccine will be allowed to enter the country. The additional recognised vaccines are as follows: AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, and Sinovac.

The country made good on their word from last September 2021 when they said they would still welcome a lot of international visitors given the new requirement of having to be fully vaccinated. According to USA Today, this protocol will apply only to those who have hit or surpassed two weeks of being fully inoculated, and those that show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days of hopping on a flight to the US.
For contact tracing purposes, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will require airlines to collect personal information like phone numbers and emails. The CDC also said it would soon release more guidelines and information once these are finalised.
“Earlier this week, to help them prepare their systems, we informed airlines that the vaccines that are FDA authorized/approved or listed for emergency use by WHO will meet the criteria for travel to the US,” CDC spokesperson Caitlin Shockey informed USA TODAY.

As of writing, the US is open for tourism except to people coming from the following territories: China, Iran, European Schengen Visa, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Brazil, South Africa, and India. There are, however, exceptions. To see them, click here. The list may be updated come November as well.
So if you’re one of those who can travel to the US and walk the streets of New York or Hollywood again, the first step is to get fully vaccinated. America’s waiting!
