This Swedish Museum Has A Ready To Go Exhibition – In A Backpack!

Wonder how it would be if you could fit an entire museum in a bag? Wonder no more! The Swedish Design Museum To Go is made specifically so that it could fit in a backpack which you can borrow for a week as a guide to explore the enchanting areas of Sweden.

Ever thought that you never have enough time to go through an exhibition, even in the span of a day? Now, you can take a whole museum to go in a backpack to go through in the comfort of your own home. The brainchild of the Swedish Design Museum, the Swedish Design Museum To Go is an exhibition fitted into a backpack, striving to share a completely unique experience to Swedish travellers.

This new interactive show aims to allow Swedish visitors to fully immerse in Swedish culture through these curated backpacks which will allow users to “feel, smell, touch” Swedish architecture, design and fashion.

Focused on the notion that Swedish design is made to be utilised and user-friendly, the virtual museum packed in the bags can be borrowed for up to a week – and all free of charge! Items in the rucksack are also thoughtfully included to encourage users to experience Sweden, which is home to many distinct regions and landscapes. You can choose the Swedish Design Museum To Go North, South, East or West which each is different and special to the area it is designed for.

For instance, the Swedish Design Museum To Go East is focused on Stockholm which offers more scenic views and a vibrant nightlife. In the bag you can find a towel by Noy Road, a Stockholm based company focused on sustainability and with it comes a tip: to dive straight into an ice-hole in Hellasgarden.

Filled with items and tips on how to use the object to better explore Sweden, the Swedish Design Museum To Go backpack is an ingenious way of helping travellers to the country to have a better understanding of the country from a local’s perspective.

With nearly 30 million visitors to the country last year and with its figure rising steadily, this initiative is a clever way to encourage the growing group to explore parts of the country that is not usually under the radar. Plus, you get to support the local companies who are dedicated to sharing their vision through their items in the backpack as well!
