As per the guidelines on the Sri Lankan Airlines website, fully vaccinated travellers who have completed 14 days after the recommended doses of COVID-19 vaccination only need to present “a negative COVID-19 report done within 72 hours of embarkation or a negative COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test report done within 48 hours prior to embarkation.”

Aside from not having to quarantine, fully vaccinated travellers do not need to undergo another PCR test upon arrival. Unvaccinated children who are 12 years and below don’t need to undergo a PCR test upon arrival in Sri Lanka either.

Foreign tourists who are not fully vaccinated will have to agree to a COVID-19 PCR test on day one. They will also have to undergo quarantine at a Safe & Secure Certified Level 1 hotel or quarantine hotel until the seventh day. This is when they have to take another exit PCR test or exit rapid antigen test. Foreign tourists can be released from quarantine on the seventh day if they get negative results. This same protocol applies to unvaccinated children of foreign tourists aged 13 to 18.

In addition, Sri Lanka’s inter-province travel ban will be lifted on 31 Oct 2021 in an effort to restore domestic tourism and to make it easier for foreigners to explore more tourist destinations around the country.

Teeming with wildlife and lush landscapes, the gorgeous country of Sri Lanka is calling to all nature-loving jetsetters out there. Don’t take it for granted!
