The Singapore Cable Car is The Best Way to Enjoy The City Views

Here’s The Best Way to Enjoy Singapore’s Views This 2019

Scenic views from a sky-high perspective? Yes please!

Think Singapore and it’s likely that its iconic cosmopolitan skyline – made famous by pop culture phenomenon Crazy Rich Asians and annual Formula 1 Night Race – comes to mind. While Singapore’s world-famous city panoramas are certainly breathtaking, there’s an alternative way to experience a refreshingly different side to the Singapore views.

Turning 45 this year is one of Singapore’s timeless attractions – the Singapore Cable Car. The city’s one and only cable car is steeped in nostalgia: ask anyone who’s grown up in Singapore and they’ll recall travelling up high in the sky in a cable car cabin at least once. Since its inauguration in 1974, the cable car has seen more than 50 million passengers, offering alternative views of the island city’s greener side.

Departing from Singapore’s second highest peak Mount Faber, it takes you out of the main island’s urban jungle, connecting Mount Faber’s lush greenery to the laidback shores of Sentosa – one of Singapore’s islands.

The spacious cable car cabins, encased with floor-to-ceiling glass panels, treats you to the breathtaking panoramic views of Southern Singapore’s greener side. It’s a constantly-evolving birds’ eye view onboard the cabin, with the sights changing depending on which line you take, which stations you ride to, and the time of the day.

The views are definitely worth it; after all, how often can you tell someone that you’ve glided over a lush rainforest, gone through a skyscraper, flown over a harbour and scaled over a waterpark with dolphins? You could even have a 4-course fine-dining meal if you so fancy too. (It’s also worth mentioning it’s perfectly #InstagramWorthy too.)

How to get to Faber Peak: Faber Peak Singapore is approximately 5-7 minutes ride away from Harbourfront MRT Station. Watch the video below to find out how to make your way to Faber Peak!

Watch the spectacular “Miraculous”, a multimedia night show, where you can spot Mira & Mirak, a pair of mighty squirrels through a kaleidoscope of lights featured onto a heart-shaped tree at Arbora.

This mesmerising and colourful light display is guaranteed to delight both the young and the young-at-heart. P.S. It’s FREE for all cable car riders (simply alight at Mount Faber Cable Car Station) and diners at Faber Peak!

Miraculous: Multimedia Night Show (showtimes: 7.30pm, 8.00pm, 8.30pm, 9pm) will show nightly from 30 March 2019 to 31 March 2020. Find out more about ‘Miraculous’ here.

There are more interactive activities to sink into – grab the Explorer Passport and embark on a self-guided adventure through Faber Peak to go on a treasure hunt of sorts across its two cable car lines. Using the passport as your map, discover the ‘hidden’ Merlion on Mount Faber and more when you complete the checkpoints. At the very first pit stop on the passport, marvel at the vintage Singapore Cable Car Cabins on display! Besides taking photographs in the vintage cabins, be sure to try this all-new Singapore Cable Car Facebook AR Filter Experience which shows the evolution of cable car cabins over the past four generations.

The passport also serves as a guide for Faber Peak’s various night activities, as well as dining and retail vouchers you can use right away. These include the all-day casual dining hilltop spot Arbora, which whips up classic Western grub, botanical-inspired drinks and craft beers; as well as rooftop bar Dusk, which serves European tapas and delicious cocktails against splendid views. Tip: Come by during sunset for an epic meal!

So what’s to say you shouldn’t take a magic carpet ride in one of these cable cars? Taking you through lush hilltops and greenery into more sun, sea and sand, it’s certainly an alternative way to discover (or rediscover) Singapore. With the year packed with fun and exciting activities, don’t miss out on all the new experiences the Singapore Cable Car has in store this 2019!
