Universal Studios Singapore Among Attractions Reopening in July

Most attractions will be restricted to no more than 25% per cent of their operating capacity at any one time.

Come 1 July, 13 attractions in Singapore will be allowed to reopen after having had their safe reopening proposals approved according to the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). Operations in stages will commence at these tourism-linked businesses after nearly three months of closure since the start of Singapore’s circuit breaker on 7 April.

The reopening attractions are as follows:

  • Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay
  • Jurong Bird Park
  • River Safari
  • Singapore Zoo
  • ArtScience Museum
  • The casino and SkyPark observation deck at Marina Bay Sands
  • Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium and the casino at Resorts World Sentosa
  • Madame Tussauds wax museum on Sentosa
  • The trampoline park Bounce and virtual reality arcade Zero Latency

Most attractions will be restricted to no more than 25% of their operating capacity at any one time, for a start.

Further precautionary measures in place

  • Access to the casinos will be limited to existing casino members and annual levy holders only.
  • Guests are required to make reservations prior to visiting Universal Studios Singapore (Thursday to Sunday) and S.E.A. Aquarium (Saturday to Tuesday).
  • Only Friends of the Gardens members will be able to visit Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay from 1 July. The rest of the public can do so from 11 July onwards. Visitors must present their timed-entry tickets during entry.
  • Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park and River Safari will reopen on 6 July. As entry at these parks will be time-based, visitors are required to book their visit date and time online before visiting the parks.
  • Bounce will only allow 33 jumpers per session which will be reduced to 50 minutes so as to allow the operators time to wipe down surfaces for the following hour.
  • Zero Latency will reopen on 4 July and the operating hours have been revised to 12pm-9pm. Visitors are to secure their slots online. The number of players per session is limited to only five – it will not accept bookings for more than that.

“With tourism reopening in a safe and gradual manner, STB’s key priority will be to ensure that tourism businesses can provide a safe and enjoyable experience for their guests and visitors,” STB chief executive Keith Tan said.

He urges Singaporeans to enjoy what the tourism businesses have to offer, in a socially responsible way.

Other attractions and domestic tour operators in Singapore may also start submitting their reopening proposal for assessment by the STB. They may resume operations only after receiving approval from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).
