Jaime LeeScoot CEO Campbell Wilson shared that Scoot has always been at the frontlines of the fight against the pandemic. He further elaborated that the airline’s utmost priority has always been the health as well as the safety of its travellers and crew. Scoot has therefore implemented a series of enhanced precautions to safeguard their passengers’ health as well as reassure travellers that they can embark on flights with Scoot safely.

Suspension of seat choices
Scoot has suspended seat choices to facilitate contract tracing as well as safe distancing. Passengers will no longer be allowed to pay to choose their seats on board. Instead, Scoot will be assigning seats to passengers upon check-in. Nevertheless, Scoot will endeavour to seat passengers travelling with family, or those in the same booking, together. Furthermore, passengers will be restricted from changing their seats in-flight.
Additional safety measures
This comes on top of additional precautions such as the suspension of priority boarding, as well as inflight seat upgrades. Meals and beverages will also be unavailable for purchase onboard and online. Instead, Scoot will pre-place food packs on the seats if necessary. These measures serve to minimise contact between travellers as well as the crew.
Moreover, the airline requires passengers to keep their masks on throughout the flight. Scoot will also be supplying hand sanitisers on board for the crew and passengers. Every passenger is entitled to a passenger care kit to ensure hygiene. Each care kit consists of items such as anti-bacterial wipes, sanitiser and a surgical mask. Scoot will pre-place the care kit on every seat for travellers’ personal use.
