Attention budget travellers! You're getting one step closer to your Hawaii holiday.

Look out AirAsia X, Scoot is planning to fly to Honolulu too!

This means that travellers from Singapore will have not just one but TWO low-cost airline options to get to Hawaii! Flights to Honolulu with AirAsia X will be launched on 28 June, while Scoot aims to fly there by the end of the year.

Scoot’s planned route has a stop in Osaka, with a total flying duration of 14.5 hours. This might mean you get to feast on some sushi during your transit in Japan! But keep your fingers crossed – the low-cost Singapore Airlines subsidiary is currently in the midst of seeking approval from the US authorities for this service.

This route is in line with Scoot’s planned expansion in its long-haul operations, with its maiden flight from Singapore to Athens (and also the first flight to Europe) taking to the skies next month. More new destinations are likely to follow as Scoot aims to triple their long-haul network within the next few years.

This great news comes soon after the recent announcement that Norwegian Air will be operating direct flights between London and Singapore starting in September 2017. The one-way economy fare to London on this low-cost carrier starts from just S$199.90! With a growth of long-haul flights available from Singapore, budget travellers can look forward to flying to far-flung destinations without burning a hole in their wallets.

In the meantime, let’s fasten our seat belts and wait for the official announcement from Scoot regarding the launch of their flights to Honolulu. Hopefully, it’ll come coupled with well-priced launch fares too!
