When scientists at California’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography made a closer inspection on July 8, they’ve discovered anchovies, a family of common salt-water forage fish, swarming in the shallow waters off the La Jolla coast in San Diego, California.

The mystic appearance of the massive school of anchovies has baffled Scripps scientists who haven’t seen such a phenomenon happening in the area for more than 30 years.
