Be Dwarfed by the Giant Sequoia Trees in California

You will probably look like a small ant if you stand on the foot of a giant sequoia tree. Sequoia trees are the world’s oldest and largest single trees by volume. The giant sequoia is often mistaken as the giant redwood as they belong to the same genus, but both types of trees have distinctive characteristics.

The grove pictured above is located along the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada range, California, USA. Though not quite amazing during winter season because of the thick snow, it is still a popular tourist attraction. Because many trees have been logged since this forest was discovered, most of the trees are now under The National Parks of the US, prohibiting people to cut down trees to keep the remaining groves safe for the future.
