Last year, there were definitely standout K-dramas that had the Internet abuzz. One of them was It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, a story about people struggling with psychological disorders and traumatic childhoods. The story centers around Ko Moon-young and Moon Gang-tae, who despite having rocky backgrounds, learn to overcome internal and external challenges while falling in love.
Now the unforgettable K-drama has bagged an Emmy Nomination for the best TV Movie/Mini-Series category. It was announced by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences yesterday, 23 Sep 2021.
There were a total of 24 countries who submitted entries for the Emmys this year, and a total of 44 nominees in 11 categories. It’s Okay To Not Be Okay was not the only Korea-based show that was nominated. I-Land was also nominated for the Non-Scripted Entertainment category this year.
This nomination makes the series the third K-drama to be nominated for an Emmy. The International Emmy Awards will take place on 22 Nov 2021.
