Upon arrival in Yangon, head to Yangon’s Chinatown to catch your first glimpse of the sights, sounds and smells of Myanmar! Pay a visit to the Keng Hock Chinese Temple (for free!) to experience the spirit of the Chinese community in Yangon.

After sundown, spend some time at the Chinatown Night Bazaar. Pop by the famous 19th Street for a wide array of Myanmar-Chinese barbecue and beer, or you could simply indulge in a local feast at Shan Yoe Yar Restaurant – touted as one of the best restaurants for Shan Cuisine!

Day 2: Fall in love with Inle’s lakes, villages & more

A short flight to Heho Airport will take you to Inle, the most famous natural inland lake in Myanmar. Gear up for a full day tour by private boat in Inle Lake, and discover the Shan and Intha villages on the banks of the river. You’re in for a spectacular view of floating gardens, houses and monasteries built on stilts on the lake!

Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State. We’re sure that you’ll be amazed by the local handicrafts, silk weaving, wooden handlooms and traditional blacksmiths along the way!

To end the day off, we recommend a visit to the charming Nampan Village. Here, you can see the local cheroot factory where Burmese cigars are made, bear witness to the carving of canoes, and have a delicious yet affordable dinner to bring the day to a close.

Day 3: Make memories in Mandalay – bridges, palaces & hills!

By air, you can get to Mandalay, the second largest city and the last royal capital of Myanmar. A tour will get you to the U Bein Bridge, which is believed to be the oldest bridge in the world. You can take a leisurely stroll, meet the locals, or even rent a rowboat while you’re there!

After a scrumptious lunch at Golden Duck Restaurant, check out the nearby Mandalay Palace (the last royal palace of the last Burmese monarchy), Kuthodaw Pagoda (where the Buddhist scripture is carved on marble slabs), and Mahamuni Pagoda (which houses one of the four most highly revered Buddha images in the country).

Haven’t seen enough? Catch a bird’s eye view of the city from Mandalay Hill, which is also known for its abundance of pagodas and monasteries.

Day 4: Bathe in the beauty of Bagan

Travel by coach to Bagan, the capital of the Pagan Kingdom, and visit Nyaung-U Market, which grants you the chance to mingle with the locals! Spend the day exploring the architectural masterpieces of this amazing town, such as the Bagan Archaeological Area, where more than 2,000 Buddhist monuments tower over green plains.

The best way to enjoy the sunset? Take a short cruise along the Irrawaddy, the longest river in the country! Pamper yourself with dinner at the Nanda Restaurant, accompanied by a cultural show that’s not to be missed.

Day 5: Re-immerse yourself in Yangon

Take one last flight from Bagan to Yangon to rediscover various religious sites, such as the St Mary’s Cathedral, the Buddhist landmarks of Sule Paya, and be mesmerised by century-old Rangoon Synagogue.

Drop by the Scott Market in the downtown area of Yangon city to pick up gifts for your loved ones. From intriguing Burmese souvenirs to lacquerware and jewellery, have a blast bargaining at the stores and immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of the Burmese market!

Finally, soak up the beauty of the most significant landmark of Myanmar, the Shwedagon Pagoda, before wrapping up the night with a buffet dinner and cultural show at Karaweik Palace.
