Sara KohPreparing for a trip can get you pretty frazzled; with all the bookings, arrangements and last-minute packing that goes into our pre-flight schedule, we all fall prey to forgetting things sometimes. So to save you time from starting your trip on a potentially bad note, here’s a list of questions you should always ask yourself before you leave for the airport.
1. Have you packed your portable charger and other essential items?

We all need an extra pack of juice when we’re out hiking on that glorious mountain! Don’t forget other important things like the universal adapters, cables, sunscreen…
2. Have you fed your pet cat?

Or not. But have you left your pet to someone to care for it while you’re gone?
3. Have you turned over every flower pot tray and drained everything so there aren’t any stagnant pools of water?

Cause these are purrrfect breeding grounds for mozzies.
4. (If you live alone) Did you bring along your spare set of keys?
There won’t be anyone at home to let you in! And you should always leave your orginal set at home in case you lose them while abroad.
5. Have you packed enough layers if you’re heading for a place experiencing winter?

6. Did you leave any fresh foods/fruits out in the open?
Better to finish them before you head out for a long holiday! Any perishable foods left in your fridge should be thrown away before you leave. You definitely don’t want to come back to a rotting mess in your fridge.
7. Do you have your passport with you?
God knows how many times we made this mistake!

8. And your wallet?
9. Have you switched off all electricity plugs?

You don’t want to come back to a hefty electricity bill! And much less pay for electricity you didn’t even use!

10. And the gas?
This is one of the famous paranoia-inducing worries on our minds when we leave for a trip! So make sure you’ve turned it off. And the iron too!
11. Have you locked the door after you?
12. THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION OF ALL: Have you kissed your mother goodbye?
