“Expect more consolidations in 2016. Lines are getting blurry between OTAs, metasearch engines and content platforms – everybody’s business model is starting to look similar. This gives even more reason for vertical or horizontal acquisitions. The travel giants are racing for Asia dominance. While they have all tried and some have made some headway, none have been wildly successful. Instead of building relationships from scratch, perhaps it would be easier to just merge with a local hero.”
