A Shopping Paradise: 13 Singapore Malls for Every Budget

A Shopping Paradise: The Best Malls in Singapore to Shop Till You Drop

There's plenty to discover beyond Singapore's delicious hawker scene!

Besides eating our way through Singapore‘s hawker centres, another favourite pastime for some of us is thronging the many shopping malls on the island. Malls in Singapore also don’t stop at retail stores; there’s an array of restaurants and amenities like movie theatres, bowling alleys, and sports centres (and more) to look forward to!

Whether you’re in the city or travelling into the heartlands, here’s a list of the best Singapore shopping malls on the island.

Popular shopping malls in Singapore

1. Plaza Singapura

Being connected to Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station where three train lines intersect, Plaza Singapura is one of Singapore’s most popular malls. Besides, with retail outlets covering seven floors and two basement levels, you can imagine why so many people flock here.

2. iON Orchard (and other malls along Orchard Road)

Take the exit out of Plaza Singapura towards Orchard Road, turn right, and walk straight. Within 10 minutes, you’ll see the bustling stretch of Singapore malls that this street is so well-known for, from 313@Somerset and Orchard Central for affordable fashion apparel, to ION Orchard for more luxury brands, and Ngee Ann City — home to the gigantic Takashimaya department store and Kinokuniya bookstore.

3. VivoCity

We’ve talked about the undisputed (and busiest) retail hub of Singapore. But what about the country’s largest? That’s the 900,000 square feet VivoCity, which spans three storeys and features a massive rooftop park! That is why you shouldn’t be surprised if you get lost on your first (and second) visit to this mall. Instead, take this time to browse through everything you could want in this Singapore mall: clothes, cosmetics, furniture, stationery, groceries, tech gadgets, toys, and restaurants with a myriad of cuisine offerings.

If you prefer to dine al fresco, buy some takeaway food and head up to the rooftop park. Find a quiet spot and dine against uninterrupted views of Keppel Harbour and Sentosa. Bonus points if you’re out with kids: the shallow pools and playground are a perfect place for them to spend some time (while you take a breather yourself).

4. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

Continuing on the theme of popular Singapore malls, how about one that is located within an iconic tourist attraction?

That’s right, we’re talking about the stunning Marina Bay Sands, where The Shoppes sits at the foot of the hotel as a luxury mall with the best high-end products and designer labels. These include Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, and many more. For those looking to indulge in some premium boutique shopping or a luxurious shopping experience, The Shoppes should definitely be on your list of Singapore shopping malls to visit.

5. Singapore malls in Tampines: Our Tampines Hub, Tampines Mall, Tampines 1, and Century Square

Now that we’ve covered the best Singapore mall offerings in the city, how about venturing into the heartlands? The shopping paradise for the easties of Singapore, the series of malls in Tampines — namely Our Tampines Hub, Tampines Mall, Tampines 1, and Century Square — is reason enough for one to shop till they drop.

Fun fact: Our Tampines Hub — the newest mall of the four — is Singapore’s largest integrated community and lifestyle hub, where you’ll find not just a standard shopping mall, but also jogging tracks, swimming pools, and more!

6. Westgate

Since it’s quite common for more than one mall to congregate at Singapore’s major bus interchanges, it’s time to look at the western counterpart of Tampines’ malls: Westgate and Jem in Jurong East. In particular, Westgate prides itself as an eco-friendly lifestyle and family shopping destination. Besides, you can’t miss Westgate when you’re in Jurong East, as the mall serves as a connector to many of the other amenities within the area.

7. Northpoint City

What began as a quiet neighbourhood mall in 1992 ended up becoming the largest shopping mall in the north of Singapore — with more than 400 tenants. Northpoint City features two wings — north and south — connected by an underground garden. Yes, it is another one of those Singapore malls that you might get lost in on your first few visits, so trust us when we say that you should dedicate a few hours when you come here.

8. Waterway Point

Like Northpoint City, Waterway Point is also divided into east and west wings, and is located in the northeast of Singapore. However, perhaps our favourite part of this Singapore mall is that it’s right by the Punggol Park Connector — one of the country’s most scenic outdoor tracks.

From a myriad of boutiques, multiplex cinema halls, and dining options to satisfy all food cravings, this neighbourhood shopping paradise is just one of the many examples that showcase Singapore’s impressive shopping scene.

Outlet shopping malls in Singapore

9. iMM

If you’re really looking for some serious retail therapy, we suggest looking at a Singapore mall known for its outlet stores. So, where better to start this than at iMM, Singapore’s largest outlet shopping mall?

This five-storey shopping mall features over 90 outlet stores, with brands like Timberland, G200, Onitsuka Tiger, and many more. After all, there’s nothing like browsing through a plethora of amazing deals that you wouldn’t quite be able to score anywhere else.

10. Mustafa Centre

Mustafa Centre is located in the heart of Little India. Aside from being the country’s only 24-hour department store, this Singapore mall also offers just about everything and anything. Think aisles jam-packed with a range of products, including electronic goods, beauty products, clothing, furniture, and a gigantic supermarket.

Also, prices here are probably the cheapest and most competitive on the market. For instance, you’ll be able to find all sorts of souvenirs for as low as S$2!

11. Queensway Shopping Centre

For all things sports-related, look no further than Queensway Shopping Centre. From jerseys and boots to backpacks and sportswear from well-known brands like Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas, there’s really no better place where you can find crazy good deals on all your sports goods.

12. Anchorpoint Shopping Centre

If you’re up for it, continue your outlet shopping mall experience just across the road at Anchorpoint Shopping Centre. Here, brands aren’t restricted to sports. You’ll find 52 premium brand merchants like optical, leather goods, bags, shoes, and fashion wear.

Not to worry, just like the other Singapore malls on this list, this shopping centre itself has a good selection of casual eateries to fuel up.

13. Far East Plaza

Away from the excitement of Orchard Road lies Far East Plaza, one of the older shopping centres in the area along Scotts Road. This Singapore mall may not have the glitz and glamour compared to what you’ll find along Orchard Road. In its place, you’ll find plenty of affordable food and beauty salons, tailoring services, and Asian supermarkets.
