The D23 Expo revealed Disney’s latest Star Wars and Marvel-themed lands and hotels and more all around the world!

Calling all Star Wars and Marvel fans – Disney is bringing a whole entire universe right to your doorstep! The latest D23 Expo held at the Anaheim Convention Centre revealed an entire revamp of the entertainment giant’s amusement park and hotel lineup, offering fans a look at their whopping 23 (duh!) changes! We’re here to help consolidate the LATEST developments and announcements in case you (like us) weren’t at the expo. Without further ado, here’s the lowdown on this fantasmic line-up:

To kickstart it all, Disney has announced their most immersive and experiential concept EVER – a Star Wars Resort! Imagine seeing the vast emptiness of space every time you look out a window, sleeping amidst Jedis (hopefully not Wookies) and getting on board spaceships for multi-day tours. You’ll NEVER want to leave this hotel. After all, you’re finally a full-fledged Padawan! You’ll eat, sleep and dress like a citizen of the galaxy and, judging by your excitement, they’ll probably have to drag you out the hotel after your stay.

Star Wars-themed land

Found in: Disneyland Park, California & Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Florida

The 14-acre Star Wars-themed land has been named Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and will feature a plethora of characters to interact with! Not only will you be able to get up-close and personal with the likes of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, you’ll also have the chance to dine at the Cantina.

For those feeling frisky, pilot the Millennium Falcon through the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs! Otherwise, lounge around a Star Destroyer inside a hangar bay. Whatever it is, Star Wars fans, eat your hearts out.

Toy Story Land

Found in: Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Florida

Prepare to go further into space, or to infinity & beyond, with the latest addition to the family of Toy Story Lands at the Disney Parks! The park can be found in Hong Kong Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris currently, but will now make its foray at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Shrink to the size of toys and explore Andy’s backyard along with Woody, Buzz and friends! The Slinky Dog Dash family-friendly roller coaster will bring you through an adventure with Slinky, truly testing his coils by manoeuvring through dangers a little toy like him may face in the backyard.

Marvel Land

Found in: Epcot, Florida & California Adventure Park, California

Wait, hold up Marvel fans! We haven’t forgotten you yet – the next one’s for you. Presenting to you Epcot’s new attraction: the Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired attraction. Trace Peter Quill’s, aka Starlord, footsteps as you follow him on his journey to Epcot as a young boy.

Disney will also be ushering in the ultimate superhero attraction – Marvel Land! The highly immersive park will see the Guardians of the Galaxy join forces with The Avengers (sound familiar?) to bring about new attractions and rides. For now, Disney is remaining tight-lipped over this new instalment so keep a lookout for any updates!

Marvel-themed hotel

Found in: Disneyland Paris

Ever wanted to catch your favourite superheroes in action? Well, with Disneyland Paris’ Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, you just might! Stroll through a gallery of your favourite characters’ costumes and weapons, including Thor’s Mjolnir, Captain America’s shield and – who could forget – Iron Man’s array of suits.

You’ll also be transported into the superhero world of Spider-Man with comic panels emblazoned on the walls. Right here in the Marvel Hotel, your dreams of becoming a superhero might just come true!

Ratatouille 4-D ride

Found in: Epcot, Florida

Bienvenue à Paris! Ever heard of the phrase “Paris is always a good idea?” Well, indeed it is! That’s why Disney has decided to launch a new Ratatouille-inspired ride and bring France to the US. The new 4-D ride already exists at Disneyland Paris and will be introduced at the Epcot.

Located at the France Pavilion in the World Showcase, this attraction will allow guests to see the world from Remy’s POV! Attempt to scurry and hide from danger at Gusteau’s restaurant in an epic kitchen-chase adventure that is sure to leave you hungry for more.

Tron roller coaster

Found in: Magic Kingdom, Florida

Shanghai Disneyland’s highest rated attraction will be hitting Florida’s gargantuan theme park soon – a coaster-style Tron ride! Get on the Lightcycles and enter into the uber high-tech Tron universe where you’ll be taken on an enthralling adventure!

Pixar Festival

Found in: Disney California Adventure, California & Disneyland Park, California

The original Disneyland California will leave you animated with their Pixar Fest – a festival celebrating Disney’s animated characters!

This one’s especially for the Pixar fans! Not only will the current Paradise Pier be revamped into Pixar Pier, it’ll also feature the best of the best from our favourite Pixar movies! These include Toy Story, The Incredibles, Inside Out. What’s more, the popular “Paint the Night” will make its long-anticipated return! We can’t wait to see what exactly Disney has in store for us.

With the Pixar Play Parade scheduled to move over from the Disney California Adventure park, you’ll have the best of both worlds with the parade in the day and a spectacular brand-new fireworks at night! So my fellow Space Rangers, hold on to your jetpacks as you get blown away by these exciting changes!

Walt Disney once said “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” And certainly, Disneyland looks far from complete with all these attractions and hotels clamouring to take their place in time for the big Jubilee – Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Can’t wait for this milestone? Neither can we. If Disneyland’s already that magical, we can’t imagine how much more fantasmic it’ll be in 2021.
